Hello! Just a quick post to update you on my progress with 30 Days Wild and also to give you a taster of our holidays. Yes, we're just back from a week in a cottage in Alnwick in Northumberland. We had the most brilliant time and totally fell in love with this beautiful part of the country. Lots more photos to follow but here's some of what we got up to.
Day 4: Visit a Roman fort. Even better if that Roman fort is in the middle of the glorious Northumberland countryside. This is
Vindolanda, one of the many Roman sites along Hadrian's Wall.
Day 5: Visit a formal garden. Our first full day in Alnwick and a visit to
The Alnwick Garden.
Day 6: Take a walk along the shore. One of my favourite days as we walked from Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle.
Day 7: Meander with a river. A stroll along the river Aln with Alnwick Castle as a backdrop :)
Day 8: Eat your lunch outside. The view across Tumbleton Lake from the visitor centre at
Cragside.
Day 9: Observe a lighthouse. This is the lighthouse on Inner Farne taken from the beach at Bamburgh.
Day 10: Watch fledglings in the garden. The cottage where we stayed backed onto the 15th century city walls. There were lots of holes in the wall, perfect for nesting coal tits who entertained us every day with their antics.
Day 11: Make friends with a local. The day we travelled home so not many opportunities for acts of wildness especially as it rained all day. Still, we did have time to meet this very friendly cat in Forum Books in Corbridge.
Hope you enjoyed the taster. Back soon with more from 30 Days Wild and our holidays :)
