Photo Scavenger Hunt : July

Another month has flown by and it's time for the photo Scavenger Hunt organised by Greenthumb at Made with Love. Here's what I found in July.

C is for...? : Shiny chrome on a Chevrolet car.

9pm : I actually found this one of the most difficult categories, mainly because we never seem to be doing anything particularly interesting in the evening! So, here I am, cocktail in hand (not my usual pose!) watching a new TV series, The 100 (OK, not brilliant).

Stem : The stems of my wine glasses in the kitchen cupboard. My friend's Dad gave them to me: he got them free with petrol vouchers!

Pool : Rock pool near Silverdale (a post about our day trip coming soon).

Dough : Freshly cooking doughnuts.

Liquid : A Caribbean Breeze cocktail (white rum, coconut rum, pineapple juice and cranberry juice).

Lever : I thought this would be a challenge but it turned out to be one of the first I found. An eagle-eyed Chickpea spotted the pillar as we turned into the road leading to Rivington. Lever Park was gifted to the people of Bolton by William Hesketh Lever, Lord Leverhulme, and opened in 1904. He is best known for being the founder of the soap firm Lever Brothers (later Unilever) and creator of the model village, Port Sunlight.

On the wall : A stunt woman riding on the Wall of Death at the Stars & Stripes American car show.

Together : Chickpea and her boyfriend.

In your bag : A present and birthday card for a friend.

Your view of today : The view from the bench where we had our picnic at Silverdale. Movingly, there was the following paving stone in front of the bench commemorating Ted, who 'never tired of this view'.

Sweet : Sugar shakers in a restaurant.

If you'd like to take part in next month's Hunt, the categories for August have already been published. Or why not just go over and have a look at the other entries? There's always lots of great ones. x

  1. Great photos. Love the wall death, it always amazes me that they can do that and I'm not surprised Ted never tired of that view.

  2. Great photos! I do love shiny chrome on old cars; my first car was a Beetle with lovely chrome bumpers. Your 'on the wall' is fantastic!

  3. Great set of photos Julie, they are all very fitting to the word..
    Amanda xx

  4. I just love the Chevrolet and the cocktails. Nearly Friday :) My daughter helps me spot good objects for the scavenger hunt, too.

  5. I love that you took the photo of the quote by Einstein. I love all the little plaques attached to the benches in England, "To....., who enjoyed this view.". That gives me fond memories of Eastbourne. xx

  6. Thanks for taking part in this months scavenger hunt. Another great group of photos. I really like C, dough, lever, on the wall and together so so very sweet. Greenthumb.

  7. Chevy looks great! At least one of us is getting our day trips accomplished

  8. Great collection of photos. Oddly, I almost photographed Lever Lane when we were near Rivington Pike - I passed it and planned to photograph it on the way back, but then we took a different route so I didn't pass it again! Great shot for 'on the wall'

  9. These are brilliant! I love your unique take on Stem, and the Chevrolet and the bicyclist are stunning photos.

  10. Wow! What a great selection of photos beginning with that shiny chrome Chevy. Great find for Lever by Chickpea...enjoyed the added information about Lever as well. On the wall is 'off the wall' dangerous! Super photo. Love the gift for your friend and your stemware was a great idea. Sugary sweet sums it up!

  11. Great photos! I particularly love the Chevy, your view of today and the 'on the wall'. Great Einstein quote :)

  12. Great finds for the hunt!! xx p.s. we share the same date for our birthdays! xx

  13. The view of the mountains is exquisite and I am salivating over the pancakes!!!
Aha, we had those petrol station glasses too- Tiger tokens! How I miss them! Clever take on the brief of STEM too!
Oh how lovely is that view that Ted loved!
Lever was SUCH a find!!! I really love it when someone comes up with something TOTALLY different to everyone else! The rockpool looks great! Must remember to come back and see the whole post!!!
    On the wall is UN.BE.LIEVABLE!!!
P.S. sorry I am so late in visiting- have been away on holiday with DREADFUL data signal!x
