Fireworks

Last night was Bonfire Night here in the UK when we celebrate the failure of the Gunpowder Plot. For once, it was perfect weather - cold and clear.

We hadn't intended going out but, all day, I just really felt like seeing some fireworks and soaking up some atmosphere. So, we headed to the display at the village church which costs a bargain £3 each.
These photos were taken using the newly discovered fireworks setting on my camera. Who knew that cameras had 'fireworks' settings! I've only ever used an auto setting before so it was interesting seeing what came out. OK, we're not talking New Year's Eve fireworks along the Thames or over Sydney Harbour Bridge here but I was pretty pleased with the results. Particularly the strange looking character wandering across the screen in the last photo!

Hope you enjoyed your evening wherever you were. Back soon. x

  1. We went to a bonfire last night too, just for the atmosphere, just to be part of it! It's been a few years I think since we went to one so I just fancied it too! Your photos came out really well!

  4. The photos are fantastic! Didn't know there's such a thing as 'fireworks setting' in cameras either. Well done for 'discovering' it. It will be great for New Year's Eve celebrations. x

  5. I never knew there was such a thing as a firework setting, I need to investigate my camera more too it seems!! Your pictures are wonderful, and they might not have been Sydney or so on, but they might just as well be as who can tell in the dark and they are so great in any case!! Glad that you had a good time! xx

  6. I need a fireworks setting on my camera! All my fireworks photos were rubbish, I couldn't seem to get the settings quite right then got bored and just enjoyed the show. I do love a good fireworks display! x
