Weekend snapshots

It's been a weekend of sunshine and showers. Yesterday's bright, sunny weather encouraged all the crocus to open wide to reveal their golden centres. This stripy beauty is my favourite.

A little more wind would have made it perfect drying weather but I still managed to dry the washing enough for ironing. It also meant I could hang out some newly purchased fabric - you'll have to wait to find out what it's destined for :)

The dry weather also persuaded me to mow the lawn for the first time this year. Just a light trim as the ground is still very soggy.

And in honour of St David's Day, I baked Welsh cakes.

They went down a treat this afternoon with a cup of tea and a new book.

It's also been a weekend of clearing and crafting.

We have a friend staying over next weekend as we're going to the theatre. This meant clearing out the spare room which seems to accumulate all the clutter from the rest of the house, as well as housing my crafting stuff. While in there, I hunted out some fabrics for a new project and came across these which Chickpea made when she was little, either at school or Brownies. I'd completely forgotten I had them :)

I'd also forgotten about these other angels which I made several years ago. They don't get out much as Chickpea finds them creepy because they have no faces!

No photos but I've made some more progress on my quilt too. Thank you for your kind comments - you are a lovely lot :) I was actually a lot less grumpy when I posted about it but it obviously didn't come across that way.

So, just a few snapshots from our weekend. I'm off now to make a start on a new crochet project. Enjoy what's left of your Sunday. x

  4. Wow - mowing the grass already - we still have some snow. I love the little angels - even if they don't have faces. And the Welsh cakes - oh my, I've got to try those - as soon as I can translate the measurements.
